Ho Chie Tsai, founder of TaiwaneseAmerican.org and long-time 2nd generation community organizer, will recount his personal experiences and share his thoughts about the evolving Taiwanese American community.  He will explore the influence of our 1st generation and the formation of our community organizations on the growth of a 2nd generation of Taiwanese Americans who are paving the way for our community and identity in mainstream America.  He will share his observations about how our identities and communities are transforming over time, how our organizations are converging as we achieve critical mass, and how together we may play a role in defining the future of Taiwanese America as a 3rd generation begins to emerge. ​ 


Ho Chie Tsai is the founder of TaiwaneseAmerican.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting and highlighting the new generation of Taiwanese Americans.  A popular speaker among youth audiences, his personal mission is to inspire young people to discover their values and passions so that they can make a positive impact in this world. He is currently a board member of the Taiwanese American Foundation and a founder of Taiwanese American Professionals in San Francisco. He was involved with the Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association since its formation in the early 1990's and remains a frequent speaker for their regional conferences. Professionally, Ho Chie is a Board-certified pediatrician on staff at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Oakland, which serves an ethnically diverse and mostly under-privileged patient population. He has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering.​
